FESSENDEN SCHOOL,USA VISIT TO JSS PUBLIC SCHOOL, SJCE CAMPUS,MYSORE – explores opportunities for student/faculty exchange programmes.

A team of administrators led by Mrs. Lila Bhan & teachers of Fessenden School, Massachusetts visited JSS Public School, SJCE Mysore, on 28/03/2014 and had an interaction with the staff and students. The Fessenden School, established in 1903 is one the oldest and highly reputed private boarding school in the USA.

The Principal of the school carried on the day’s proceedings by giving a brief genesis of Fessenden school, which offers holistic curriculum exclusively to boys from KG to grade IX.

The formal programme began with reverence to His Holiness Sri Sri Deshikendramaha Swamiji galavaru, the pontiff of Suttur Mutt and the patron saint of our school. Smt. Gouri Venkatesh briefed the history of the Suttur Mutt and the curricular achievements of JSS Public school. She highlighted the motto of the school “Work is worship”

Later, they went around the school to have a look at the KG class rooms and interacted with the KG teachers followed by an interactive session with the students.

It was mutually agreed to facilitate online tutoring for students .In the long run, it was also positively decided to examine student/faculty exchange programme between FESSENDEN and JSS Public schools located in India.



To focus on improving communicative skills in students, JSSPS, SJCE, Mysore is holding a book exhibition sponsored by Scholastic Publishers in the school premises.

The fair was inaugurated by a young amateur writer and avid reader of books, Sri. Sagar Narasimhan, Principal Information Security Engineer from Aries Global, Mysore.

This event has given opportunity to the students of the school to inculcate good reading habits amongst them. The exhibition will be held for 3 days from 20th to 22nd January 2014. The fair is open to the public and parent community of Mysore.

Prathibha Vignana & ICETC, Davangere, Karnataka organized an International Level Science, G.K. and Drawing Talent Examination-2014 in the school premises.

30 students participated in the Science Talent Exam, 14 students participated in the G.K. Exam and 45 students participated in the Drawing Exam.

Nischitha of std. I ‘A’, Sanjana of std. II ‘B’, Pratyush P of std. IV ‘A’, Ameena of std. VII ‘A’, bagged National, State and District Ranks in Science Exam.

Vagdevi H J of std III ‘B’, Pratyush P of std. IV ‘A’ bagged National and State level Ranks respectively in General Knowledge Exam.

Inchara and Viya of std. I ‘A’, Poorna Pragna of std. IV ‘A’, Shrila S of std. V ‘B’, Samanvi S Swami of std. VII ‘A’ bagged National, State and District Ranks in Drawing Exam.

11th All India colouring and Mathematics Quiz organized by Pentasoft Quiz was organized in the JSS Public School, SJCE, Mysore. About 151 students participated in the quiz competition.

Arjun.K of I std, Ananya.S of III std, Shambhavi S of LKG, Tanmay V. Achar of UKG, Siddanth, of I std, Divamsh .C of II std are the Gold Medal winners.

Akhilesh Yadav visits SJCE Campus

Shri Akhilesh Yadav, an alumnus of SJCE, the present Chief Minister of UP visited his Alma Mater on 14 June 2013.Our student, Ms. Amulya Anil, the school’s budding writer had the privilege of interacting with Shri Akhilesh Yadav.
She presented a poem in his honour and duly she was rewarded. The Chief Minister lauded her talent and encouraged her saying – “That it does not require academics to become a politician but real life experiences provide a platform to become a politician”.


Improve your Memory by Power Brains
On 18-6-2013 “Improve your Memory by Power Brains”, a seminar for the students of class VI to X was conducted by Sri. K. Krishna Kailas a world class Trainer & coach at the school quadrangle.
Seminar high lights were:

  • How to concentrate
  • How to remember lessons
  • How to Memorize faster
  • How to recollect at right time
  • How to save time in studies

Cyber laws and cyber crime
Smt. H S Nagalakshmi, Secretary for Computer Society of India was invited for a guest lecture. She gave a talk on “ Cyber laws and cyber crime” for students of IX and X of our school.

Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press conducted ESOL Examination at 3 levels YLE, KET and PET for the students of our school and See Academy, Bangalore. about 86 students were tested in listening, speaking, reading & writing.
