Independence Day was celebrated at the school campus with grandeur, pomp and patriotic fervour.
Sri B R Umakanth, Chief Executive, JSSTIs campus, Mysore, Sri. Srinivasan, Deputy Director, AIR, Mysore and were the chief guests for the day.
The chief guests after hoisting the flag spoke about the day’s celebration and lauded the students for having given a wonderful cultural show. They stressed the importance of freedom and education for the progress of society and the Nation.
They remarked that the day should not anytime go down in the Indian history as any other day but as a day of accountability for all Indian citizens.

On 17 November 2012, Kannada Rajyotsava and Children’s Day were jointly celebrated in the School Quadrangle. The Principal of the school, Smt. Sathi Devi E.S. Presided over the function.

It was a pleasure to watch children actively involved in the celebrations. Akshay of VIII ‘A’ welcomed the gathering. Sumukha of X ‘A’ spoke on the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava. He briefly brought out the history of Karnataka and mentioned the various achievements of the state in general and Mysore in particular.Smt. Vani, Smt. Soujanya, Smt. Pushpa and Smt.Indira rendered a kannada group song ,’Hachevu Kannada Da Deepa praising the prosperity and cultural heritage of Kannada Nadu.

This was followed by the Children’s Day celebration. Stuti Y.R. of IX ‘B’ spoke on the day’s significance. Smt. Kalpana and Shri Phanindra rendered folk songs in Kannada to entertain the children. Later, a food fare was organized in the school playground. The children had a good time eating their spicy snacks and finishing it with Ice creams.

Ms. Jahnavi M. J. of X Std. proposed the vote of thanks on the occasion. The day proved memorable as both the staff and children regaled in the spirit of the day.

GO GREEN

The students celebrated World Environment day on 5 June 2013 in the school campus. Students of the VIII standard presented a skit to highlight the significance of the day. They planted 2 saplings of Gulmohur in the campus. This initiative was taken by the Alumni of the school. The students also took a pledge to protect the environment.

Stuti of IX ‘B’ spoke on the theme of the day which in “THINK EAT AND SAVE”. This year’s theme encourages reduction of wastage. Save money and reduce the environmental impact of food production.
